Between 8-9 May 2025 and 15-16 May 2025, Pro Refugiu Association, in partnership with the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Law, organized at Bucharest two training sessions for lawyers and legal advisors, within the project LITIS – Enhance the knowledge and skills of legal professionals and other stakeholders in using strategic litigation to enforce the rights of persons with disabilities.
The objective of these events was to support the training of legal practitioners in the use of strategic litigation as an essential tool for enhancing and protecting the rights of people with disabilities.
Topics covered in the sessions included: disability rights law, the importance of strategic litigation in promoting equity, analyzing legal and procedural considerations in combating multiple and intersectional discrimination – at national, European and international levels – and developing effective advocacy strategies to support these efforts.
The events offered participants the opportunity to strengthen their legal knowledge and develop practical skills in promoting social justice through strategic litigation.
