LighT: Litigating change – Training lawyers on the EU rule of law acquis

As the LIGHT project reaches its conclusion, we are excited to share key updates and accomplishments from our work!

LighT E-Course Now Available in All Languages!

After a successful three-month beta testing period, the LIGHT e-course is now fully available in English, Greek, Bulgarian, Polish, Hungarian, and Romanian. This comprehensive training equips legal professionals and students with essential knowledge on litigating EU rule of law principles. If you haven’t explored it yet, now is the time!

Access the course here: https://cecl.edu.gr/course/index.php?categoryid=4

How to Enroll: Participants must first register on the platform to gain access to the course materials. Once registered, they can select their preferred language by clicking on their name in the top right corner of the screen and choosing from the available options. After completing the modules, students are required to complete an evaluation form to provide feedback on their learning experience. Upon successful completion of all steps, they will receive a certificate of participation and achievement.

Online Mini-Forum “Rule of Law – Legal Insights”

On 5 March 2025, we hosted the online mini-forum “Rule of Law – Legal Insights”, which brought together legal experts and stakeholders to discuss Rule of Law challenges in different countries. Specifically, key rule of law challenges related to the functioning of independent authorities, judicial independence and separation of powers, and fundamental rights with a focus on vulnerable groups (asylum seekers and LGBTQI+) were discussed.

The LIGHT Project Comes to an End

As the LIGHT project enters its final phase, we are proud of the collective efforts of our partners from Greece, Hungary, Bulgaria, Poland and Romania, experts, trainers and all the institutions involved, who have contributed to raising awareness, equipping legal professionals with vital skills and strengthening the rule of law throughout Europe.

We are also grateful to the lawyers, students and participants who engaged in our training sessions and project activities, making this initiative truly impactful. As the project comes to an end, its legacy continues – our resources and insights will remain available to support and empower those committed to defending the rule of law.
