Association Pro Refugiu had organized a first joint staff training event in Bucharest 21 September 2015 – 25 September 2015 as part of the transnational project Chance and Challenge-Improve the assistance for children and youth victims of human trafficking by developing innovative support programs under the Erasmus Plus Program Strategic Partnerships.

Alongside Romanian professionals (psychologists, social workers, lawyer) attended Spanish and Czech specialists in the legal/social/psychological field with expertise in assisting victims of human trafficking. The topics approached during the event consisted in human trafficking in Romania (statistics, forms of exploitation); children and youth victims profile; assistance services provided to victims; trauma and healing in children and youth; social consequences of human trafficking upon victims; code of conduct for social workers and psychologists in assisting children and youth victims; legal consequences of human trafficking upon victims; child friendly justice; the role of the project’s website. Also a meeting with Romanian National Agency against Trafficking in Persons and Ministry of Justice took place as part of the event providing the opportunity for the Spanish and Czech professionals to learn more about the important role these two institutions have in monitoring/fighting against human trafficking, assistance for victims.
