On 1 April 2016 a final conference took place in Bucharest concerning the projects Chance and Challenge –Improve social services for victims of human trafficking and Pro Health-Improve medical services for victims of human trafficking, financed through NGO Fund in Romania, EEA Grants 2009-2014.
The event was organized by the coordinator of these projects, Association Pro Refugiu, in partnership with its Norwegian and Romanian partners Pro Sentret, Foundation People to People, Association Betania, East European Institute for Reproductive Health, Directorates for Social Assistance and Child Protection from the Romanian counties Bacău, Dâmboviţa, Galaţi, Iasi, Mures, Sălaj, Satu-Mare, Sibiu, Teleorman.
47 Romanian and Norwegian participants with competences in fight against human trafficking, victims’ assistance, migration. Social workers, medical mediators, lawyers, police officers, experts from the Regional Centers of the National Agency against Trafficking in Persons, General Inspectorate for Immigration, General Directorates of Social Assistance and Child Protection, Bucharest Bar, NGOs, representatives of Pro Sentret and of the Norwegian Embassy.
During the event, the projects results were presented and also 2 panel discussions took place focused on integration difficulties faced by the victims, improve the referral process for Romanian and foreign victims, legal aid, case management.
